Voice assignments in Ensembly

Each song in Ensembly can have any number of voices or instruments. The application can be used by different types of musical ensembles, but for simplicity each score part is called a voice. Administrators can configure voices for each song.

Automatic default voice assignments

If your ensemble has default voices, such as Soprano, Alto, Tenor, and Bass, and members are assigned to them, you can automatically assign members to their default voices while creating a new song.

You can always assign voices manually or adjust automatic assignments for a specific song.

How to assign voices to users

An administrator can assign voices on the song page. Open the song from the song list and choose the option for setting voices. A list of users will appear, and each user can be assigned one or several voices. The same voice can be assigned to many users.

Available voices come from the list configured while creating or editing the song (song management).

To change assigned voices, open the song page and edit the song.

Voice declarations by members

Members can also declare their own voices for a song. They can choose one or several voices, for example Baritone and Solo.

If a member declared attendance for an upcoming event (declaring attendance at events) and has no voice assigned in one of the planned songs, a message appears on their home page. They can quickly choose their voice from there.

An assigned voice can be changed at any time from the song page.

Voice overview in songs and events

People assigned to individual voices are visible on the song page. The same information is also available from the event page for songs assigned to that event.

This helps the conductor see which voices are available for a given song on a given day and what repertoire can be performed.
